Bits of Me

Judicial Toleration for Negative Externalities of Bearing Arms in Public: Addressing the Second Amendment Circuit Split, 14 Seton Hall Cir. Rev. 209 (2018)* J.D., cum laude, Gonzaga University School of Law, 2017; B.A., summa cum laude, Eastern Washington University, 2014. I would like to thank EWU for giving me the tools and the freedom to become a thorough researcher, Gonzaga Law and the Thomas More Program for generously investing in my public service advocacy, and my husband, children, and seemingly tireless supporters for their life-altering influence. I dedicate this article to my dear husband Alvin, whose lifelong bond with the Second Amendment encouraged me to do the research and document the necessity for judicial toleration of its negative externalities.

This 2017 Continuing Legal Education Seminar, ‘Resources for Youth in Crisis’  was co-hosted by the Spokane County Bar Association and Gonzaga Law. I was proud to coordinate this lovely event with my fellow Thomas More Scholars. As the title page illustrates, it does not matter how many resources you have if you don’t know how to use them…. It will never be enough. This Continuing Legal Education seminar was a unique opportunity to focus on identifying and explaining community resources, legal resources, absent resources, and substantive law that exist for Spokane’s and its surrounding area’s youth in crisis.

With my public-interest focus at Gonzaga Law, there has been little time for writing anything that was not client focused except this… My 2016 Vesting Paper for Law Review. It is mostly case law and statute research with a hint of analysis since the historical study lends to a predictable future outcome.

As a 2011-2014 Government major – Economics minor, I found my niche at Eastern Washington University in my writing. I originally intended to minor in History but found that understanding economics went hand in hand with understanding the political system. The historical nature of both of these elements is interwoven in my studies as well as my free-time reading. I have written on a variety of topics ranging from local interests to U.S. foreign policy. The type of writing I enjoy the most is focused on one particular theme that runs throughout history. You will see a couple of those examples also attached to this page.
